"Counselling is not just about working through issues; it is about getting to know that your issues are not who you are"

Holistic Counselling & Women’s Health Coaching

Counselling & Women's Health Coaching are an opportunity to talk through some of life’s challenges, providing a space to express feelings and to have someone who is there to support by way of listening and reflection. It is becoming much more widely accepted that we all need some kind of emotional and psychological support at some point in our lives. Whether this be to work through particular significant life challenges or whether it be to simply support further growth and self-development.

With stress being a significant underlying factor in most illness and disease, there is a very clear need for support in learning how to manage and deal with stress. There are varying degrees of stress and everyone experiences it differently with a very broad range of symptoms like difficulty breathing, heart palpitations, heavy feeling in the chest, sleep problems, fatigue, menstrual irregularities, blurred vision, digestive issues and so much more.

"At least one in seven women report experiencing an
anxiety-related condition"
"One in seven Australian men experiences depression or
anxiety or both in any year"

Stress & Anxiety

Anxiety is fast becoming the ‘new normal’, whether that be low grade high functioning anxiety or an experience that is more debilitating. Any which way, any level of anxiety is hugely taxing on the body and can be a very unpleasant state to be living in. We have become accustomed to the fast-paced life that leaves little room for consideration about how this is impacting our health and overall wellbeing.

The fact is, we are all sensitive beings i.e., sensing everything that is going on around us, yet this is largely ignored and overridden in order to keep up with the pace of life and much of the time, because we don’t really like what we sense and feel. Therefore, burying it with all of life’s easily accessible medications like being busy, different kinds of food, the way we eat, alcohol, drugs, consuming ourselves with certain roles like mothering, television, Netflix, even holidays can be a medication to relieve from the pressures of not wanting to feel the body and ignore our ever-present sensitivity.

Re-connecting back to our sensitivity is paramount when dealing with our health and this includes our mental health. Our ability to feel settled with life and settled in our body is in fact our natural state. Yet sometimes we need support to return to what our body innately knows.
